It’s safe to say it’s been a while since I’ve attended a baby shower. I don’t even come across infants on a regular basis. I last saw a baby (almost 1 year old) was at a party this past Thanksgiving. My friend had a grandbaby in 2025. So, that’s that. And also considering how my own children are now 21 and 17, I am now where near as close to having any friends who are having babies. Well, there are few oops babies I keep hearing about, but those childhood classmates are all sprinkled around the world.

For a recent Girls high tea party, I went to a cafe. As I chatted away with my girl friends, I sat next to a group of people who were spending their afternoon with a mom-to-be. And the scene was delicious, literally. The food was all baby shower themed and the decor was magical.

They played games and cheered while I kept drifting in and out of all the baby shower parties I had a chance to be a part of over the years. All those diaper cakes I had helped make and the dough baby games we played LOL.

Below is a memory from when I was pregnant with my now 21-year-old. Those were good times in Pittsburgh.

I cannot imagine my life without my children, so I know the mom-to-be is in for a challenging yet delightful ride of her life. Yesterday, I had the chance to speak to a 28 year old girl who one hopes to get married and have children of her own one day. I have so much hope for our younger generations.
