Pick More Daisies
If you’re like me, you get a lot of forwards on WhatsApp. One such poem is called “If I Had My Life To Live Over”. I love the spirit behind this one. I researched its origins and looks like it was originally composed as “I’d Pick More Daisies” by an American writer Don Herold. This forward that I got attributes it to an 85 “Nadine Stair”. The point is the sentiment is something we must all consider carefully.
Don’t be too careful with your life. Be imperfect, be silly.
Make mistakes but don’t think of them as moral failures. Be a rebel who goes against the excessive caution and the over preparing. “Less beans, more ice cream.” Sometimes.
Be present, and live in the moment, the poem is asking us to do. Dance a little, pick more daises, instead of rehearsing too much for the future.
