Our Digital Landscape
Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning have already begun to read the sentiments and feelings of the common man. Cue, our personalized recommendation lists on YouTube, Netflix and the Kindle reader.
But, nothing is lost yet. We can still beat machines we’ve built with our superior cognitive abilities.
Let’s explore the differences between machines and man and what makes man superior.
Machines are capable of doing well understood tasks automatically. Man is good at entertaining, creating and understanding the humor in sarcasm and irony.
Only humans have the power of imagination, intense curiosity, and can understand the cause and effect scenarios. Only we can contemplate deeply on the meaning of life and understand our ability that we can change our mind if we want to.
Why is this important? Understanding how we are superior than animals and machines.
When you go to work in real life, what we’re faced with is not accounting or science related problems, we are faced with people problems.
Conclusion
If you want to continue to beat the machines we’re building. We must teach children this.
But, what can we teach our children in an age, when machines that we’re programming with our superior computer coding skills are dictating how we must think, feel and act. Remember, this was our unique value proposition as humans to begin with – our mind – that can help us think, feel and act. Yet, we’re allowing tech distractions and addictions to cloud over it.
Retain your inner wisdom that’s inherent to you and work with AI to innovate for tomorrow. You must not lose empathy and machine should not acquire emotion.
Tech can make us productive. But what makes us effective is only when we use our inherent tools of language and emotion. Our tools are not science and technology, our tools are language and emotion.
Only humans have the ability to interpret situations and visualize consequences. We are born with inherent curiosity that enables them to learn, fail and grow. How can we equip them to share their intent and talent with the world.
We’re all searching for our self-worth, identity and some respect for who we are and what we’re capable of doing.
We’re also starting to live more fragmented and lonely lives. If by myself i can make such an impact of making someone feel loved and matter, what can we all do together as a world? Our potential and our collective potential.
Equanimity, diversity and inclusion is what we stand for. Let’s empower ourselves with information and find ways to support each other. Only if we empower our children with what makes them uniquely human – compassion, creativity and a clarity of purpose – that is when we and our future generations can stay ahead of machines we’re building.
