Year 2118

 

Here’s a hypothetical scenario of the future of our technology revolution.

Big Tech companies, Facebook, Apple, Amazon, Netflix and Google, lovingly known as FAANG, have spent decades manipulating the levels of dopamine of humanity by making our digital devices addictive. Under court order, they’ve to advertise about the harmful and disruptive affects of digital addiction.

So, after 10 years of internal wrangling, they’ve finally come up with a “spectacular” piece of advertising. Its cleverly designed to be boring so as to not leave any impact on the passive TV viewer. 

And they worked. While watching this advert between TV shows like Kevin can wait and Superior Donuts, I found myself on my smart phone, refreshing the jackpot casino like refresh button. Nicotine is to smoking, what dopamine has become for technology. Below are a couple of the adverts making digital waves.
