Jacob Coxon is an AI researcher with Anthropic and Open AI for 3 years before he announced his resignation this week. He argues that both companies are racing toward self-improving superintelligence and “gambling with our lives.”

He stresses that systems will soon be superhuman capable of hacking anything, transforming entire fields overnight, and accumulating real power and resources. Progress shows no signs of slowing.

Coxon notes that many people building AI privately believe it could kill everyone by the end of the decade. No other human endeavor carries comparable risk.
