Lessons Of Mindfulness From Nature
Like the water drop, let’s learn to enjoy the present moment. If the water drop were to think of itself as on the verge of crashing to the ground, it will miss its “now” – which is still, balanced and breathtaking.
We all crave a sense of order, balance and calm in a world of information overload. And in this daily pursuit, we find ourselves even more lost. Ask yourself, right now, what is preventing you from having a strong sense of wellbeing.
By adopting a compassionate approach to ourselves, we can stop chasing the perfect version of life that doesn’t really exist. We can stop the overwhelm and anxiety that are byproducts of our daily grind.
Here’s how you can achieve a peaceful and fulfilling life.
Indulging In Nostalgia
Sometimes, hometowns can beckon us in strange ways. Nostalgia is that emotion that wants us to reclaim our past. It makes us crave for our childhood days, where we lived dreaming about adulting, becoming a famous journalist or having enough money to buy all the candy we want.
Funny, isn’t it, how it makes us want to go back and touch what was part of your childhood, making us regretful of not living our adolescence in those precious present moments?
Being Hopeful About The Future
Our world is filled with unpredictable reactions of our loved ones and strangers and a lot of uncertainty of our own wellbeing. But what can bring us to the present and help rid us of fear and anxiety is the Arts.
Through the meditation of the moment that any sort of creative work brings, we can welcome awareness, gratitude and purpose to our lives. We can learn our true nature and the infinite possibilities it offers.
We can paint our own life and our own vision for how we want to lead it. Have you taken up the brush yet??
Dwelling In The Past
Past is a different person, it would have done everything differently. Resisting this moment to dwell on our past doesn’t change our current reality.
Hippocrates insists that “from nothing else but the brain come joys, delights, laughter and sports, and sorrows, griefs, despondency, and lamentations.” We are our brains.
Let’s not allow our brains to tell us what emotion can take over our day please.

Inhaling the Present
Invisible things in our life can cause harm, terror and death. But there are also invisible things in nature that bring the warm of the sunlight to us, the blossoms of spring flowers and the joy that fills our hearts.
Get out. Look up to see the beauty that’s all around us. Some of the best things in life are free.
Nurture Your True Nature
The tidal basin on the Potomac in Washington D.C. has a collection of Cherry Blossom Trees in full bloom during the month of April. They signal the arrival of spring and the overwhelming presence of the timeless beauty of nature. They’re timely and unrelenting. They are truly a force of nature.
The five elements, earth, fire, water, air and space, don’t seem to tell each other that in their own power, they stand alone, and are not really dependent on one another. They simply exist with unconditional trust, freedom and generosity in this shared space. They teach us to reserve my judgement, perceptions, and just be accepting and content and to believe that we’re blessed to someday disintegrate and become one with them.
The Journey From The Unguided To The Guided
When you’re attuned to your true nature, you understand the weather outside and that which is brewing inside.
You have time to rest. Even though you don’t know exactly where you are, you can stand and just get a sense of direction. You can trust yourself to the elements even when you’re lost.
Whose game of optics are you playing? Are you living to the definitions of your own success or those of others around you?
When we turn inward, we can start our journey from the unguided to the guided. Let’s have some candid fun, that kinda fun where you don’t have to line up to take pictures for.

“You are what your deepest desire is. As is your desire, so is your intention. As is your intention, so is your will. As is your will, so is your deed. As is your deed, so is your destiny.”

Create Mental Speed Bumps
Whatever you’re doing in nature – walking, star gazing, or watching the rhythmic sounds of waves hitting shore, was meant to lend the necessary speed breaks for our busy lives. Thank goodness to nature, there’s a chance to make our days feel timeless.
As you’re one with nature, it helps your mind become balanced, focused and reflective. From the inside out, you start evaluating every relationship you are part of, including the deepest one with yourself. Are you insecure, insensitive and selfish in your relationships?
Whatever happened to your patience, forgiveness and more importantly the vision of where you want to be? Why are you moving so fast without gaining clarity in your perception and truth?
The greatest wonder of the world is that we all live like we’re going to live forever. If there’s any time and place to unbusy yourself, it’s now.
